Vehicle Assurance Qualifies for Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) Certification
Certification process ensures that vehicle service contract providers are protecting consumers, complying with applicable rules and regulations and honestly representing services provided.
Selbyville, DE, September 7, 2010 – The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) announced today that Vehicle Assurance has completed the VPA's Certification-Audit Program.
The VPA was formed to promote regulatory transparency, education and accountability for marketing and servicing automotive service contracts. The Certification-Audit Program was developed in 2009 to rid the vehicle service contracts industry of deceptive practices.
To receive VPA certification, Vehicle Assurance underwent a thorough evaluation in accordance with the Certification-Audit Program guidelines. To become certified, companies must submit to a third-party for review. In addition, certification candidates undergo a self evaluation and an on-site audit.
Company phone scripts, advertising materials, contracts, government agency filings, policies and procedures are reviewed to ensure they are in compliance with federal and state laws and to ensure that the company is upholding the Standards of Conduct established by the VPA.
"Consumers who choose to do business with certified companies can do so knowing that the company they are working with is looking out for their best interests and honestly representing services provided," said Larry Hecker, executive director of VPA. "Protecting consumers is very important to companies that are certified through our program."
