New VPA Board Members Elected

The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA), a trade association for the vehicle service contracts industry, has evolved its leadership team as it continues to work for the benefit of the association's members, the industry and its customers.

Selbyville, DE, September 23, 2011 -- The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA), an association formed to promote regulatory transparency, education and accountability for marketing and servicing automotive service contracts, today announced the results of its recent board election.

Rebecca Howard has been re-elected by the VPA membership for a three year term. Rebecca, President of Paylink in Chicago, has been a Board member and President of the VPA from its inception. Currently, she serves as Immediate Past President.

Jason Currier was elected to serve a three year term by the membership. His company, American Auto Shield, is an administrator and is headquartered in Colorado. He has been involved in management roles in the automotive industry for 14 years.

Ed Walder was also elected to serve a three year term by the membership. His company, Omnisure Group LLC, a Payment Plan Provider, is also based in Chicago. In the past, Ed served as CEO of Mepco and owner of Premium Finance Company.

Continuing Board members are: Paul Chernawsky (Endurance Direct), Bill Gilman (Warrantech), Carter Patterson (Forte Data), Chris Shoemaker (Nationwide Automotive Protection), Paul Sporn (Royal) and Matthew Weil (American Guardian Warranty Services)

"We welcome our new board members, and welcome back our continuing board members, to what has become a very active and productive nonprofit board," Larry Hecker, Executive Director of the VPA, said. "As a group, we have taken substantial and highly effective steps to maintain the integrity of the vehicle service contracts industry and protect consumers.
