National Vehicle Protection Services, Inc. Attains Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) Certification

Longtime VPA member passes industry certification tests for compliance with association standards of conduct and federal and state laws.

Selbyville, DE, August 1, 2011 – The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA), an industry trade association formed to promote regulatory transparency, education and accountability for automotive service contracts marketing and servicing, today announced that National Vehicle Protection Services,, is now a certified vehicle service contract provider.

In order to improve consumer protections, the VPA introduced its rigorous certification program in September 2009. National Vehicle Protection Services is the eleventh company to undergo and pass the certification process. A full list of certified companies can be found at

To receive certification, companies must undergo a lengthy and comprehensive third-party audit. Independent auditors, staffed by former assistant Attorneys General who are specifically trained in operations audits of marketing firms, evaluate the operations and business practices of applicant companies. They intensely scrutinize the companies to make sure they follow state and federal laws, as well as the VPAs Standards of Conduct.

Upon completion of the VPA's Certification-Audit Program, companies can display the Vehicle Protection Association Certification logo on their websites and marketing materials. The VPA Certification logo is a sign to consumers that they are working with a good vehicle service contracts vendor.

"National Vehicle Protection Services is relentlessly focused on delivering the highest possible degree of public satisfaction," said Eric Gerhardt, president at National Vehicle Protection Services. "Our attainment of VPA certification further demonstrates NVPS' commitment to do right by consumers and provide them with an extended service vehicle protection plan from National Vehicle Protection Services that best suits their situation and their vehicle needs. NVPS has always agreed with the moral and ethical codes of the Vehicle Protection Association when providing consumers with their vehicle protection plans. We have and will continue to support the VPA's Standards of Conduct."

"We are pleased to welcome National Vehicle Protection Services into a select group of VPA-certified companies," said Larry Hecker, executive director of VPA. "This is a company that takes their obligations to consumers very seriously, and we strongly encourage all consumers who are interested in purchasing vehicle service contracts to do business with VPA-certified firms such as National Vehicle Protection Services."
